Vibrant Doors was founded by John Shaw in August 2012. After many years working in the internal doors and external fenestration manufacturing industry, he felt the time was right to bring something different to the market.
From the kitchen table of his family home, he set about bringing great quality, affordable timber internal and external doors online. Available to both trade and retail customers alike, ordering was quick, simple and fast.
His mission was to provide better than industry standard products with the most competitive prices on the internet. This mission still stands today, over 10 years later.
While our family-run business started from the kitchen table, it wasn't long before we needed to expand. Since 2013 we've operated our office and showroom from Sinfin Lane in Derby which is where our customer service, marketing and senior leadership teams are based.
In an average week you'll find us guiding customers around the showroom, booking in collections for our trade clients and perhaps shooting some content for our social media channels. And of course, the phones are always ringing. No day is the same.
In keeping with our original ethos, some of John's trusted friends and family members have joined the business over the years. Having experience in the industry themselves, they're vital to the smooth running of our daily operations and new initiatives alike.
As we've grown and developed, we've listened to our customers and adapted to their needs. We're proud to be able to provide a one-stop shop, supplying brands you love and everything from door handles to internal and patio doors.
We're big enough to bring you everything under one (digital) roof but small enough to care. From home renovations and self builds to property developments, we serve retail customers right through to major housebuilders.
Our UK based team works from our Derby office Monday to Friday. They're available from 8.30am - 5pm to answer your calls and queries. We love to support young, local people looking to forge a career. In fact, many of our team have grown with Vibrant Doors since the early years - joining the business straight from school or college and progressing into management and leadership roles.
To support recent growth and new enterprises we're also welcoming new faces in key areas such as web development, public relations and specialist sales divisions. All to ensure we have a wealth of experience and enthusiasm under one roof.
Most of the team is born and bred in Derbyshire. We're proud to support our local community as well as some initiatives close to our hearts from further afield.
As big football and sport fans, we're a kit sponsor for the Shelton Hawks Under 9's and have previously sponsored Mickleover Under 12s Football Team, Mickleover Country Park FC and Redcar Town FC. We've also previously sponsored charity bike rides and The Derbyshire Institute of Sport.
We're honoured to support incredible organisations such as YMCA Derbyshire, and the Safe and Sound Group. We've also previously supported the Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance and are a Diamond Sponsor of Me and Dee Charity which is based in Derby too.
Our team was also part of a hugely rewarding project for Treetops Hospice featured on DIY SOS for BBC Children in Need (read about this special experience here).
We're obsessed with the creativity and talent of our customers and love to find out where our products end up. From Kent and London to Yorkshire and North Wales, our doors can be found in properties across the UK.
As well as experienced trade professionals, our doors are loved by creators who regularly feature them in content for social media. We've worked with influencers such as Jade Doutch (700k Instagram followers) and Lilly Moffatt (30k TikTok followers).
Vibrant Doors has also graced the screens of national television - supporting a beautiful property renovation for a show on Channel 4 (learn more here). Our bespoke patio doors have been featured by the British Style Society and you'll often spot us in the local business press.

Through the hard work and dedication of the team, we've recently gained FSC Certification. This means Vibrant Doors is doing our bit to provide products that are sourced from sustainably managed forests, helping to protect our environment.
We're delighted to stock several FSC certified brands (FSC-C109654) with FSC information available upon request. Products supplied by CLIMADOOR are certified FSC Mix. Other FSC certified brands we stock include JB Kind, Deanta and LPD Doors.
